About Brandy

Hi, my name is Brandy! I live in Port Orchard with my husband and five children ages 14, 12, 3, 2, and sweet baby born October 2015! I was born and raised here in Kitsap County. I grew up in Bremerton where I graduated high school and attended Olympic College. I am a typical Northwest girl – I love hiking, camping, and soaking up the occasional ray of Washington sunshine. Most of my time is spent taking care of my family – traveling to the many sporting events of my older kids, homeschooling my 7th grader, and chasing after my energetic little ones. I also have a love for cooking, crafting, and painting (which fuels my addiction to Pinterest!). Since having my 3rd baby, I have also discovered a love for cloth diapering & babywearing, as well as rekindling my passion for breastfeeding (including tandem nursing!), which cumulatively for my 5 nurslings equals over 6 years and counting!

My journey to becoming a doula began many years ago, after my own birth experiences. I took my first DONA doula training at Seattle Midwifery School in 2002. Pregnancy, birth, babies and breastfeeding have always been a special passion of mine. In 2012, I felt the calling to turn this passion into a career. My current offerings include: Birth Doula Services, Placenta Services, Sacred Pregnancy classes, Professional Henna, Event Planning for Mother Blessings, and my newest addition – Belly Binding and the Art of Sacred Postpartum “Mother Roasting.”

I am also pursuing my dreams of becoming a midwife. I am currently enrolled with Midwives College of Utah, where I am embarking on my second year of comprehensive schooling which involves rigorous online classes and didactic work, as well as clinical education through an apprenticeship with a local midwife. I hope to open my own homebirth midwifery practice sometime in 2019.

I love providing these services for growing families. This type of “work” fulfills my heart more than words can express. I also enjoy serving my community on the board of Kitsap Doula Cooperative as Director of Marketing & Media. {To learn more about KDC, visit our website.}

I founded Baby Bloom {Bellies– Babies–Birth–Breastfeeding}, with the intention of serving families in my community during their birth year. My goal is to serve any family or mother that wants or needs support during this time in their life, providing comfort, empathy & professional skills, in order to empower women and their partners. In serving families, I strive to support mothers from all walks of life, in having the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum they envision whenever possible, and to make decisions that are right for them. You deserve to have your birth, your way!
